About Me
Born and raised in Washington D.C., and now based in Chicago, I am an actress and all around creative, with a love for writing, costume design, and community engagement. I received my BA in Theater with a special concentration in African American Studies at Temple University, and continued my training at Studio Acting Conservatory, The Theatre Lab, and SITI Company NYC. I am currently spending my 2025 Summer studying Black theater practices at the Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn, New York with the Black Arts Initiative. I spent Summer 2022 studying at The British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program, and the School at Steppenwolf. I completed my first national tour with the National Players Tour 72, performing in A Raisin in the Sun and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in repertoire, June 2021- June 2022. Most recently you could see me understudying the World Premiere of Julia May Jonas’ Problems Between Sisters at Washington D.C.’s, Studio Theatre, understudying Jordan E. Cooper’s, Ain’t No Mo’ , at Washington D.C.’s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co and Baltimore Center Stage, playing Claudia in Lydia R. Diamond’s adaptation of The Bluest Eye with Theater Alliance in SE D.C., and in Imagination Stage’s education production of New Kid at Planet Word.
Upcoming Projects
I am currently participating in the Billie Black Arts Initiative Summer Intensive at the Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn, New York, through August 8, 2025. As ‘Collectivity’ is the core of BBAI, I am privileged to be sharing and learning in a Black focused space, about our theatrical history and impact, from Black instructors thriving in today’s industry. We are engaging in workshops that reflect various aspects of theatrical work, and exploring how to navigate professional challenges as Black artists.
See my cameo appearance in the opening sequence of Hulu’s acclaimed 1619 Project Series, Episode 1: Democracy. What a joy it was to honor my ancestors and be a tiny part of this pivotal project by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
From 2021-2022, I played Ruth in A Raisin in the Sun, and Peter Quince and Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with National Players, Tour 72, through the Olney Theatre Center. My additional roles included Props Master and Education Coordinator for our tour.
National Players is the longest running touring company in the U.S., employing 9 actors and one stage manager as we travel around the country performing shows in repertoire, hosting talkback discussions, and teaching educational workshops on acting/improv, voice, movement, playwriting, Shakespeare, and arts professions. National Players performs for a diversity of audiences from students to the general public, the elderly, and even the incarcerated. We visited all types of venues from performing arts centers to opera houses, lecture halls, school auditoriums, and more.
